SC Democrat Annie Andrews launches PAC to elect candidates who will advocate for children

Dr. Annie Andrews, the South Carolina Democrat who lost to Republican U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace in November, is launching a national group aimed at resetting the political conversation in Washington by prioritizing issues that acutely affect children.

She’s calling it “Their Future. Our Vote.”

The effort includes an affiliated political action committee that aims to raise between $5 million and $10 million.

The PAC, called Their Future, will focus on electing federal candidates who will advocate for measures that fight climate change, champion quality education, push what she considers sensible gun legislation, strengthen democracy, and combat child hunger and poverty.

The announcement was first reported by Roll Call.

Andrews, a pediatrician and mother of three, said the idea took root five months ago on the night she lost her race in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District.
